The Arabella Educational Scholarship Trust was established in 2008 by Kevin Sutcliffe to fund the academic, sporting and cultural development of school going youngsters from low income communities in the and areas of the Western Cape, South Africa.
The Trust is based on Kevin’s ardent belief that funds raised should not be on a “Once Off Basis” leading to an expectation of further funds, but rather to create a sustainable longer term legacy, that can have a profound and positive effect on members of the surrounding communities with an emphasis on ‘A hand-up, not a hand-out’.
The Trust funds a fully rounded education at secondary school as well as at a tertiary level should the beneficiaries’ achievements give them such an opportunity. The Trust also involves itself in the promotion of the general welfare and life skills of these youngsters, mentoring and assistance to achieving an excellence in sport.
